Vietnam’s trade surplus of 8.66 billion USD in November’s first half

In the first half of November, the trade balance of goods had a deficit of 1.15 billion USD. However, from the beginning of the year to the end of November 15, the country still had a trade surplus of 8.66 billion USD.

According to data from the General Department of Customs, in the first half of November 2022, the total import-export turnover reached more than 28.4 billion USD, down 6.3% compared to the second half of October 2022.

Thus, accumulated from the beginning of the year to the end of November 15, 2022, the total import-export turnover of the whole country reached 645 billion USD.

In the first half of November, export turnover reached 13.63 billion USD, down 2.72 billion USD, equivalent to a decrease of 16.6% compared to the second period of October 2022.

Groups of export products with large turnover (reaching 1 billion USD or more) include phones and components (2.38 billion USD); machinery, equipment, tools, and spare parts (1.78 billion USD); computers, electronic products, and components ($1.67 billion) and textiles ($1.4 billion). From the beginning of the year to the end of November 15, Vietnam’s exports reached 327 billion USD.

Regarding imports, the first half of November 2022 reached 14.8 billion USD, up 5.9% (equivalent to 0.8 billion USD) compared to the results in the second half of October 2022.

Three groups of goods imported over 1 billion USD in the first half of November are computers, electronic products, and components (2.86 billion USD); machinery, equipment, tools, and spare parts ($1.97 billion); phones and accessories ($1.06 billion). By the end of November 15, the country’s imports reached 318 billion USD.

Thus, in the first half of November, the trade balance of goods had a deficit of 1.15 billion USD. However, from the beginning of the year to the end of November 15, the country still had a trade surplus of 8.66 billion USD.
