Vietnamese products made from coconut, mango, and jackfruit are increasingly popular in international markets, helping export turnover reach nearly 1.1 billion USD in 10 months.

According to data from the General Department of Customs, in October, processed fruit and vegetable exports reached 127 million USD, up nearly 28% over the previous month and 18% over the same period last year.

Overall, in 10 months, processed agricultural products brought in nearly 1.1 billion USD, up 12% over the same period last year.

Products from coconut, pistachios, mango and jackfruit continue to be the main export commodity groups. In particular, goods processed from coconut and mango purchased by countries increased one and a half times over the same period last year, reaching over 187 million USD and 97 million USD respectively in 10 months.

Pistachios achieved an export turnover of more than 111 million USD, an increase of 35% compared to the same period in 2023.

The US and Japan are markets that buy a lot of processed fruits and vegetables from Vietnam. In addition, protocols on exporting fresh coconuts, frozen durians… signed with China, open up opportunities for domestic agricultural enterprises to access a market of billions of people.

The increase in exports of processed agricultural products shows the market expansion strategy of Vietnamese enterprises. This year, processed vegetables are expected to reach an export turnover of 1.3 billion USD, according to the Vietnam Fruit and Vegetable Association. The growth rate is not as good as fresh fruits and vegetables, but processed products play an important role in enhancing value, helping farmers avoid the situation of “good season losing value”.
