The Vietnam Pepper and Spice Association (VPSA) forecasts that global pepper output in 2025 will continue to decrease while consumption demand is stable. This is the driving force for Vietnam’s pepper exports this year. With the current pepper export price increasing by 68% compared to the same period last year, VPSA believes that pepper exports in 2025 will be very favorable, forecast to reach a new record value, most likely setting a record mark of 1.5 billion USD.
According to VPSA, the Vietnamese pepper industry is shifting from increasing acreage to improving quality, promoting deep processing, diversifying products, and diversifying markets to penetrate deeply into the global pepper supply chain. Currently, pepper prices are high, so many families are boldly investing in taking care of existing pepper gardens and replanting old, low-yielding areas. Many farmers in localities in the Central Highlands are also boldly switching to organic production, ensuring safe products that meet the standards of demanding export markets to increase the competitive advantage of agricultural products.
