Vietnam’s Agriculture Achieves a Breakthrough Export Milestone
Vietnam’s Agriculture sector has officially reached a historic export milestone, recording over USD 64 billion in export turnover within the first 11 months of 2025. This figure not only reflects strong growth momentum but also surpasses the full-year record set in 2024, marking a significant turning point for the country’s agricultural economy.
According to data from the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, total exports of agricultural, forestry, and fishery products reached USD 64.01 billion, demonstrating the sector’s resilience amid global economic uncertainties, supply chain disruptions, and fluctuating commodity prices.
This achievement further consolidates Vietnam’s Agriculture as one of the most dynamic and competitive sectors in the national economy.
Export Growth Shows a Strong Upward Trend
A comparison of export performance over recent years highlights the impressive growth trajectory:
- 2022: USD 49.17 billion
- 2023: USD 47.68 billion
- 2024: USD 56.85 billion
- 2025 (11 months): USD 64.01 billion
The data shows that Vietnam’s agricultural exports in just 11 months of 2025 have already exceeded the total export value of the entire year 2024. This reflects not only recovery but a clear structural improvement in export capacity and market diversification.
Key Export Segments Drive the Record Performance
The strong performance of several key commodity groups drives the export success of Vietnam’s Agriculture in 2025:
- Agricultural Crops – USD 34.24 Billion
- Forestry Products – USD 16.61 Billion
- Aquatic Products – USD 10.38 Billion
- Livestock Products – USD 0.567 Billion
Export Growth Across All Major Categories
Compared to the same period in 2024, all major export categories recorded positive growth:
- Agricultural products: +15%
- Forestry products: +5.9%
- Aquatic products: +13.2%
- Livestock products: +16.8%
This broad-based growth highlights the increasing balance and sustainability of Vietnam’s Agriculture, rather than reliance on a single commodity group.
Vietnam’s Agriculture Strengthens Its Global Position
The record-breaking export performance underscores Vietnam’s strategic shift toward value-added production, quality compliance, and market diversification. Free trade agreements, improved logistics infrastructure, and stronger traceability systems have played a critical role in enhancing competitiveness.
As global demand for food security, sustainable sourcing, and high-quality agricultural products continues to rise, Vietnam’s Agriculture is well-positioned to maintain its upward momentum and expand its footprint in international markets.
