Tay Ninh is rapidly shifting from a border province into a key transit hub for the Southern economic corridor. Through strong investment in transport infrastructure and smart warehousing, the province is gradually removing long-standing bottlenecks in Vietnam’s agricultural logistics system.
A Strategic Gateway in the Regional Logistics Map

Located along nearly 369 km of border with Cambodia, Tay Ninh holds a prime position for logistics development. The province operates a dense network of border gates, including four international gateways: Moc Bai, Xa Mat, Tan Nam, and Binh Hiep. As a result, Tay Ninh plays a critical role in connecting Southeast Vietnam and the Mekong Delta with Cambodia and the wider ASEAN market.
Moreover, trade activity through these border gates continues to rise. In the first ten months of 2025, import–export turnover reached USD 2.6 billion. This steady growth has created strong pressure to upgrade logistics infrastructure to maintain momentum and improve efficiency.
Addressing the Cold Chain Gap in Agricultural Logistics

Although Vietnam’s agro-fishery exports are expanding—seafood exports alone are expected to exceed USD 10 billion by 2025-cold chain logistics remains a major weakness. For years, limited standard cold storage capacity has reduced product quality and weakened global competitiveness.
Against this backdrop, the launch of the New Era Cold Storage (NECS) project in Tay Ninh in December represents a major step forward. As one of the largest smart digital bonded warehouses in Southeast Asia, NECS offers a capacity of 110,000 pallets. In addition, it supports a wide temperature range from –22°C to +25°C, suitable for diverse agricultural and food products.
Importantly, modern cold storage does more than provide space. It significantly reduces post-harvest losses and helps exporters maintain consistent quality across the supply chain.
Technology- Driven and Finance
Modern logistics is no longer just about square footage; it is about management technology. In Tay Ninh, the digital bonded warehouse model has been approved by the General Department of Customs, enabling the integration of robotics, IoT, and AI into daily operations. Every stage, from booking and temperature control to traceability, is fully automated.
Notably, the convergence of logistics and finance represents a new highlight. NECS has introduced a model where businesses can use their inventory within the warehouse as collateral for bank loans. This “Inventory Pledging” solution helps unfreeze capital flows, allowing companies to maintain production and export activities seamlessly.
With a clear vision and systematic investment in infrastructure, Tay Ninh is piecing together the missing link in the Southern logistics picture. This development not only boosts the local economy but also solidifies the supply chain, paving the way for Vietnamese agricultural products to reach further into the global market.
