Since August, Bac Ninh has officially become Vietnam’s leading province in export and import, reaffirming its role as a key industrial and trade hub in the North. According to the provincial People’s Committee, Bac Ninh’s total export and import turnover reached nearly USD 150 billion in the first 10 months of 2025 — a significant increase compared to the same period last year.
Of this total, exports exceeded USD 77 billion, up 32%, while imports reached USD 72 billion, rising 38%. In October alone, the province’s export and import value surpassed USD 19 billion, up over 4% month-on-month — reflecting strong manufacturing and trade recovery in the fourth quarter.
Electronics and high-tech components remain the driving forces behind this growth. Production of computer parts rose more than sevenfold, peripheral devices tripled, while laptops, iPads, and smartphones more than doubled compared to the same period in 2024.
Industrial Production Drives Trade Growth

Bac Ninh’s industrial production index surged more than 16% in the first 10 months, bringing total industrial output to VND 1.99 quadrillion, a 13% year-on-year increase. The provincial government confirmed that industrial production continues to be the main engine of growth, directly contributing to Bac Ninh’s outstanding export and import performance.
Thanks to stable operations within industrial zones — even after heavy rainfall and flooding — factories maintained output and expanded orders. The province hosts major global technology manufacturers, whose export activities significantly support Vietnam’s overall trade performance.
Strong Fiscal Revenue and FDI Inflows
Beyond its achievements in export and import, Bac Ninh also posted impressive fiscal and investment results. Total state budget revenue in the first 10 months reached VND 62.3 trillion, equivalent to 110% of the yearly target. Domestic revenue accounted for VND 51 trillion, or 111% of the plan.
Foreign investment remained a bright spot, with total inflows surpassing USD 16 billion. This included 180 new domestic projects worth VND 270.1 trillion, 312 newly licensed FDI projects valued at USD 1.6 billion, and 222 existing FDI projects adding more than USD 3.4 billion in capital. These figures underscore investors’ strong confidence in Bac Ninh’s business environment and its growing position within the global supply chain.
Economic Targets and Key Solutions for Q4 2025
According to Mr. Vuong Quoc Tuan, Chairman of Bac Ninh People’s Committee, the province aims for 11.5% economic growth in 2025, with an ambitious 12.8% expansion in the fourth quarter to reach the annual goal. The local government is focusing on industrial and service development — particularly during the year-end consumption season — while supporting enterprises in labor recruitment and production expansion.
To sustain export and import momentum, the province also plans to enhance logistics infrastructure and streamline administrative procedures. Meanwhile, the tax sector is tasked with collecting approximately VND 9 trillion in Q4 by maximizing tax and fee sources, ensuring fiscal stability, and maintaining a business-friendly environment through tax relief and incentives.
Bac Ninh: A Strategic Export and Import Hub in Northern Vietnam
With remarkable growth and consistent performance, Bac Ninh has firmly established itself as a strategic export and import hub — not only for Northern Vietnam but for the entire nation. A strong industrial base, modern infrastructure, and expanding FDI inflows provide a solid foundation for sustainable economic development.
As global demand rebounds and Vietnam integrates deeper into international supply chains, Bac Ninh is expected to continue leading the country’s export and import performance, contributing significantly to national trade and economic growth.
