Quang Ninh attracts $1.59 bln of FDI in 1H

Northern Quang Ninh province attracted over $1.59 billion of FDI Capital in the first six months of the year, equivalent to 51.6% of the annual target, according to the provincial Statistics Office.

The province licensed 23 new FDI projects with a combined registered capital of $1.358 billion.

Meanwhile, the province drew over VND9.65 trillion ($379 million) of domestic investment as of June 18.

The provincial Statistics Office also reported that Quang Ninh posted a GRDP growth of 9.2% in the first half of the year. With this result, the province continues ranking among top localities of the country.

The province’s Index of Industrial Production (IIP) rose 36.38% year-on-year.

Regarding tourism, Quang Ninh welcomed 10.4 million tourists, up 18% year-on-year. Of which, nearly 2 million foreign tourists visited the province, a significant increase of 140% compared to the same period last year.

Total tourism revenue reached over VND22.2 trillion ($872 million), a year-on-year growth of 34%.
